Toronto-based Chronicles Dub Trio is set to release their newest EP Chapter II: Marcus Garvey on September 1.

Featuring Alexei Orechin on guitar, Jonathan Rattos on bass, melodica, and keys, and his brother Craig Rattos on drums, the trio are all members of Humber and Toronto Universities jazz programs.  They hold a monthly residency in Toronto, where these interpretations of the songs have come to life over time.

In honor of Marcus Garvey’s birthday, and an homage to Burning Spear’s original in-studio performance, their first single drops tomorrow.  It was recorded live, straight to tape, with no overdubs.
