There are a lot of grassroots festivals that happen across the country. Typically they feature local talent, a family-friendly atmosphere and a certain enduring sense of chaos that comes with a community of people coming together to give their 100% to do something they don’t do for a living: put on a music festival.
More often than not, these grassroots events provide an amazing weekend and hopefully don’t lose too much money. But sometimes these homegrown get-downs flourish into something truly special. A gleaming beacon of success, Surrounded By The Sound in Long Creek, SC is back for another Labor Day weekend of good music, good people and good vibes – and Rootfire has a pair of tickets to give away.
With a namesake tipping the hat to the song “Young One,” a collaboration between the festival’s originators Sun-Dried Vibes and South Carolina’s Treehouse!, SBTS is an event aimed at showcasing the vast talent of the rock/reggae scene, as well building community. From Sun-Dried Vibes’ Zach Fowler:
“Surrounded by the Sound is more than just a concert date and more than just a music festival. It is the gathering of people who consider each and every person they meet, FAMILY. We are here to grow the love and the scene on the East Coast and we hope you all will come and share in the experience with us!”
This year’s lineup features Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Badfish (a tribute to Sublime), Zach Deputy, Iya Terra, New Kingston and of course Sun-Dried Vibes. Rootfire is giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky winner – make sure to enter below!
