Dispatch at NYC’s SummerStage, Central Park – Two Nights

Cover photo by Allen Ralph

New York City’s SummerStage concert series has developed a deserved reputation for eclectic lineups, with talent ranging from pop stars to the Metropolitan Opera and everything in between. Presented by the City Parks Foundation, SummerStage uses larger ticketed events to fund an array of free shows in 18 different public parks across NYC’s five boroughs. This July finds them presenting two nights of Boston’s humanitarian-driven favorites, Dispatch, July 18 and 19 with special guest Nahko and Medicine for the People and Raye Zaragoza at SummerStage, Central Park. Rootfire is giving away a pair of tickets to each night’s event.

Art is a platform. It is used to define culture, provide inspiration and to give voice to the voiceless. Few acts have taken the responsibility of this platform more to heart than Dispatch. From their lyrics to live benefit shows to their work outside of the band, this trio is a selfless beacon in the face of an increasingly divided world. Three sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden? Take the proceeds and use them to benefit Zimbabwean humanitarian efforts. Have hundreds of thousands of fans? Advocate for the causes that need their attention through the non-profit Calling All Crows, which connects fans and bands in collective activism (and has raised over a half-million dollars in the process).

This summer, engage with the world around you through the music you chose to go see. Listen to the lyrics and be inspired by the fact that you can make a difference through the actions you take. Not in the tri-state area? Don’t worry, Dispatch is still coming your way this summer.

Win tickets to see Dispatch and in NYC w/ Nahko and Medicine For The People and Raye Zaragoza!! July 18-19 at SummerStage, Central Park!
