The Artwork of ISO50

In 2007 I was working on a new website for John Brown’s Body. While meeting with a designer in NYC, we spoke of merchandise storefront options for the band. He suggested that I reach out to Merchline, and showed me a storefront that they had created for ISO50. At the time the store was more design focused that what many other bands were using and I loved it. Today it looks nearly identical to the what I saw 5 years ago. Once remarkable, now acceptable… I do appreciate the minimalism though.

I never forgot about ISO50 and last year bought a few studio edition prints which are framed in my apt. Scott Hanson, the designer behind ISO50 has his hands on some amazing projects including designing the upcoming Pretty Lights album, as well as working on his one music under the name TYCHO.  Enjoy his art + his blog. It is remarkable.

Seth founded Rootfire while he was managing a group of influential modern reggae acts, including The Green, John Brown’s Body, and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. The goal of the project has always been to connect the people who participate in the modern reggae movement.
