Rootfire At The Park – Hurricane Irma Relief Project

Creating relationships with those who are helping others at the ground level is what Rootfire is all about, and will continue to be about. In an effort to directly contribute to Cocoa, FL after damage done by Hurricane Irma, 100% of ticket proceeds from Rootfire At The Park will be donated to relief efforts. Your presence at Rootfire At The Park will now directly help rebuild the Cocoa community. Because when we can’t count on FEMA, we are gonna have to start relying on each other a little bit more, until we all get our heads together and agree that a rapid movement towards a more sustainable future was needed yesterday. While we all may have our thoughts about who’s causing the problems and providing the solutions, everybody should be trying to lend a helping hand as a byproduct of having a great time.

November 10-12 marks the second annual Rootfire At The Park music and lifestyle festival at Riverfront Park in Cocoa. The festival has expanded to a three-day phenomenon with activities abundant. Local artist and national acts will rub shoulders and massage minds, while together we all raise money and supplies for our neighbors in Florida who have been devastated once again by the ever-increasing, all-powerful force that is Mother Nature and her hurricanes.

While Riverfront Park itself remains mostly unharmed after Hurricane Irma, the pier adjacent to it was destroyed. As a display of commitment to our host community, Rootfire will be partnering directly with the City of Cocoa to help restore the pier to its original beauty.

The world seems pretty fucked somedays. Are we gonna stand around and mope about it? Nope! We are gonna keep it moving. We are gonna keep making music, expressing ourselves, getting together, playing soccer, enjoying the grass outside. Let it not be in vain though. Let it not be blind to our local, national, and global struggles. We are stronger together, and the bigger the party the better we make it. Buy your tickets to Rootfire at the Park today.

Bass player and songwriter for Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, James feels, plays and lives the music. Lucky for us he also has the knack for remembering what happened and writing it down in his own voice.
