PANDA! gives away stems and wav files under Creative Commons Copyright Licenses

The Grateful Dead cracked a recorded music shell by allowing fans to tape their shows. Addresses were traded in parking lots and new friends mailed bootleg recordings to each other via the USPS. In 1971 A call for all freaks to unite was added into the liner notes of a dead album, and through physical mailings, concerts, paper, typewriters, etc- a movement formed. The band went so far as to reserve special “taper sections” at shows so fans could place mics near the FOH (for ideal sound quality) and dancers would not colide with mic stands. By providing fans with an inclusive and exceptional experience the dead lead a movement. This revolutionary idea is now a day to day idea as we all embrace services like UStream, eTree, Archive.org, etc. music is more important 2

In a spirit similar to the Grateful Dead, PANDA! (Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad) has begun giving away their music and wav files to songs under the Creative Commons License. The Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license gives others a clear path to remix, tweak, and build upon the bands work non-commercially, as long as they credit the group and license their new creations under the identical terms.

What does that mean? PANDA! has made their high quality audio files available as free downloads and encouraged the mixing, remixing, dubbing, etc of the song. This is inclusive and exceptional.

A note from the band:

Creative Fiends!

New song: FUTURE. We want YOU to remix this track for us! Take it to the black ark or take it to the 5th dimension! We want to see how far out you can get. We are looking for artistic producers!

Future was recorded during the In These Times tracking, but was never finished. There are loads of layers to work with. Use all of them or one of them. Our favorite remix gets a legit release! We love your creative side!

So feel free to get crazy or if you just want to do a standard mix of the song to get your hands dirty, that is fine too. DOWNLOAD All Wav Files to Mix or Remix this song.
