single titled “Mesh Marina”. Known for his fiery stage presence, J-Rexxx is heating up in the
modern Japanese Reggae scene having already performed at numerous festivals
internationally. Japanese Reggae ambassadors, Mighty Crown, dubbed J-Rexxx as “one of the
most exciting Reggae-Dancehall artists with an ability to destroy any stage.”
On “Mesh Marina” J-Rexxx flexes his knowledge and appreciation of Jamaican culture. Clearly
established in the title of the song, J-Rexxx honors the classic knitted mesh tank top that has
become synonymous with the rude boy style. J-Rexxx tells a story of being in the dancehall
wearing his mesh marina top paired with Clarke shoes, another Jamaican staple. Throughout
the upbeat tune J-Rexxx flashes his versatility by switching between speaking both Japanese
and English, while also paying homage to Reggae icons Shabba Ranks and Burro Banton.
Massive B’s collaboration with new talent, J-Rexxx, further displays the Brooklyn based labels
expertise in finding the most raw emerging artists, further proving their already established
international reach.
