First listen: The Movement – Golden (full album premiere)

In a matter of hours The Movement‘s new album Golden drops worldwide. It’s an honor to share this music with you, the Rootfire family, now. Like a dress rehearsal before the main event, we want to say thank you for supporting Rootfire. Without you we would not have attempted to build the Cooperative. Listen to Golden in it’s entirety, for free, right now at Rootfire.net

We are all dependent on each other to grow the future of this scene. For years, an extended community of talented writers, photographers, videographers, and visual artists have worked tirelessly to support the music. We would like to acknowledge those folks who have always gone the extra mile to spread good music, because without them, much of it would never have been heard or enjoyed. Today, we give it up to the crew at Sugarshack Sessions who produced The Movement’s latest music video – a one shot take of “Fair Warning” filmed live in South Florida.

Also, our sincerest thanks to all family at The Pier, Top Shelf Reggae, and Branch Out Music who have gone deep on this album. Check out their features and reviews below, and be sure to keep an eye on The Pier for a special feature coming soon.

Lastly, thank you to United Reggae, Live For Live Music, and Boomshots for premiering songs from Golden over the last several weeks.

What is the future of the music going to look like? Where is blogging, writing, and social sharing going? How can we connect deeper? I think all we can do is give thanks and support to the folks who inspire us the most. Deepest thanks.

If you feel inspired, please take a chance to share how you feel about the album by leaving a review on iTunes or sending us an email that we can pass on to the guys in the band.

Seth founded Rootfire while he was managing a group of influential modern reggae acts, including The Green, John Brown’s Body, and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. The goal of the project has always been to connect the people who participate in the modern reggae movement.
