Dancehall and the Golden Hearts Tour

There is an aura of confidence in the air, and smiles on faces like when you are handing out a gift you know they are going to love. The album is banging and the live show being rehearsed is bigger- it sounds thick, forward, and direct. The synth lines cut through the riddims, and the vocals reach. Everyone hold on- rewind, lets just take it back to the tune first and go from there.

The Movement have just released “Dancehall” (feat. Mr. Williamz), the first single off their new album Golden which drops April 8 on Rootfire Cooperative. Rootfire is deeply involved in this album, and over the next several weeks we will share perspectives on the release. For now, you can stream “Dancehall” below or pay what you want to download it. Like all Rootfire Cooperative releases, any financial support you provide goes directly to the band; there is no middle man.

On March 19, The Movement hits the road in support of Golden. If you are feeling blue, or if you did something good and have been waiting for the universe to return the favor – just drop us a line at [email protected] and we will do our best to take care of you with a guest list spot to a show. Boom.

Hope you are feeling this one, the album is fire. -Seth

dancehall 101

I’ve seen the sun slip behind the sea
The stars stretching out to eternity
But baby, they just can’t compare
To what you mean- What you mean to me
So I’ll wait- I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall

Yes I’ll wait- You know I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall

Staring up at the palm leaves
Salt breeze blowin- never felt so free
Me and you- yeah we were the only two
Out on the beach, and out of reach

Remember when we heard our song
I swear I could have held you all night long
I thought loving you could never be wrong
But now you’re gone
Now you’re gone

And I’ll wait- I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall
Yes I’ll wait- You know I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall

I say now how can I stop when you keep on keepin me going
You just cut off the current when I need it to be flowing
With every part of me aching- my heart is taking me over
And my head- It keeps spinning like I could never be sober
Cause there’s another side of you that I can never ignore
You say you’re leaving me baby- I say I’m missing you more
And I would never hurt you, burn you, cut you down to the core
But you got one foot on my heart and got one foot out of the door

Still I’ll wait- I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall
Still I’ll wait- you know I’ll wait for you
At the dancehall
