∆ (alt-J)’s sound contains expressive psychedelic elements with vocals suspended by distorted guitar strings, dancing like puppets on psychedelics inside of a serious Bollywood movie. The band forms intelligent arrangements by bringing together melodic guitar and piano accompanied by irregular drum rhythms. It is easy to assume that Alt-J shares membership to the same Ivy League secret society with the likes of MGMT, Santigold, and Vampire Weekend. AKA: Smart creative people, recording amazing original music; on their own terms.

Seth founded Rootfire while he was managing a group of influential modern reggae acts, including The Green, John Brown’s Body, and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. The goal of the project has always been to connect the people who participate in the modern reggae movement.
