Rootfire World Premiere: Morgan Heritage “Wanna Be Loved” Video

My first Morgan Heritage concert was on August 15, 2007, at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY. I had just moved to Brooklyn a few months earlier and my friends Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad were opening the show. I had heard good things about Morgan Heritage and their performance that night lived up to the hype.

In 2008 Morgan Heritage’s anthem “Brooklyn and Jamaica” catapulted them to the top of the reggae scene.

Their new album, Strictly Roots, is nominated for this year’s Grammy for Best Reggae Album.

Rootfire is proud to premiere the music video for “Wanna Be Loved” featuring Eric Rachmany of Rebelution. The video features footage from last summer’s Catch A Fire Tour, including appearances by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Tarrus Riley, and more.

The band’s touring schedule got increasingly busy, and I helped organize and build their online presence, and mailing list.

I had a weekly radio show in college named Mixed Vegetables. I did more than 100 shows in my 2+ years as a DJ on WVUD 91.3 FM Newark, the voice of the University of Delaware. I played all kinds of music including underground and lesser known artists. My passion for spreading musical truth grew, and I eventually booked and promoted some concerts under the moniker Arugula Promotions. Proud to say I put on Giant Panda's debut concert in the state of Delaware!

In May 2007 I moved to Brooklyn, NY; shortly thereafter I founded Herbivore Publicity. The vegetable theme is a continual dream...
